Most playwrights became respectable poets; playwriting wasn"t respectable: shakespeare less educated/re ned and unapologetic playwright, became shareholder in lord chamberlain/king"s men. Plays belonged to company, not playwright: moved to the globe in 1599; then died in 1616.
