Film music (musicals) in north india is a great tradition being spread across india and is understood and appreciated around the world. Film music in india tends to portray homogenous and eclectically accepted trends in their music to appeal internationally. Inidas film industry is the largest commercial film industry in the world with 300 to 400 films a year. (hindi films) Other big commercial music film centres in india include kerala, chennai, hyderabad etc. The main themes in indian music films are mythological family melodramas, untouchability, prostitution etc. These films allow villagers adapt to often alienating urban environments due to their themes. There"s a big western look and style in these movies (western luxury). Eventhough sex is very prohibited in these films there is still an extreme sexual innuendo. Homogeneity in these music films are prominent like using diatonic scales which are familiar in western culture.
