A gwas is a comparative study, it compares the genome of diseased invididuals with healthy individuals. It tries to identify the snps that occur more frequently in the disease group. Mos cancers are the results of accidental mutations when exposed to toxins and radiation. There are a lot of genetic changes between different types of cancers. Abl=bcr is an ideal drug target because its not a normal protein in normal cells. We can use modern sequencing in the discovery phase, and in phase1/2. The starnds are terminated by the fluorescent base. Sound is used to cut the dna into fragments.
