Document Summary

Definition: he is free "that in those things by which his strength and weight he is able to do is not hindered to do what he has a will to do. " (hobbes) Freedom is consistent with acting out of fear. If you are given the choice of your money or your life, you still have freedom but o its still constrained, even though under the circumstances you do actually want to hand over your money. We are free when we act of our own desires, but every desire and inclination proceeds from some cause. Is god therefore responsible? (going down the chain) "we can have no passion or appetite of which god"s will is not the cause" Od is responsible for my wanting what i want but that"s not a limitation on my liberty, because its just me doing what i want.
