It doesn"t follow that in the future, the future will be like the past unless we assume the future will be like the past: this assumes what we are trying to justify: begs the question. In all reasonings from experience there is step taken by mind which is not supported by any argument or process of understanding. Of the idea of necessary connection: hume: by means of proper application of copy thesis, we may reach a greater clearness and precision in philosophical reasonings than has up to now been possible. In observing operations of mind on the body, we can"t see the tie binding them together: command of will over itself isn"t any more evident.
