Document Summary

Objects move with constant velocity unless acted upon by an external force. A force is a push or a pull. The acceleration a of an object is given by a=fnet/m (f=am), where fnet is the net or total force on the object and m is the mass of the object. The net or total force is the sum of the individual force on an object. Problems in mechanics are solved by finding fnet, calculation the acceleration a, and using some calculus to specify the position and velocity of the object in the future. The future motion depends on the initial position and velocity of the object at some time instant. The path followed by a bird in the video game after it is launched is closest to a parabola. For every action force there in a reaction force that has the same size and is in the opposite direction. Air resistance keep changing the direction as the objects moves.
