Where they took people from cultures all over the world and were made to live in an artificial construct of a recreation of where they lived at home. They would be viewed by thousands of visitors so they could see how other people from places around the world would live. The most famous of these cases is of a young woman named sara baartman, who was a slave from the south coast of africa who was brought to england in: she was believed to have unusual anatomical features.
