Polis = city of words (plato"s ideal state) One job or task they are naturally suited. Focussing on balance between body and soul. Soul will become brave and moderate instead of borish and cowardly. Based on most principle nature of divisional labour. Must do what is right and right for the polis. Focuses on book i, ruling is an art/craft. Some will not like this way/go against nature. Through educational process (agoge) we are all born of earth, and we are all particular metals. Core of the truth = natural division of labour. Myth of metals is that it is deemed okay to lie by a ruler if it"s for the good of the city. Guardians will only have what is needed to function. Human gold and silver are unnecessary since they are born of gold and silver. Find wisdom, courage and moderation, whatever is left over must be justice.
