Document Summary

Edema is too much fluid in the body. This is the fluid in every cell in the body. Theres also extracellular which is the fluid outside the cell. This fluid is made up of fluid in the plasma and the fluid inbetween cells. Fluid is an integral part of all of our processes. Fluid comes in thru the digestive system and goes out. Before this happens theres distribution in the blood with ions and with the lungs, theres fluid affecting the cellular compartments, then the fluid is passing through the renal system and is excreted. Physiology is keeping all these systems in equilibrium. Most the fluid is within the cells in our body. 2/3 of the fluid we have is intracellular. Is in the plasma and is interstitial fluid. In an adult human we have 60% body water as weight & the other 40% is bone.
