Abstract from culture + values to hardcore small things in the brain some of it might be a little difficult but it turns out how accessible/easy it is for an individual to do something. Extrinsic people tend to burn out when only extrinsic forces are derived the more superficial these motivations are its quite easy to burn out. Intrinsic emotionally interested and invested in the task we get to take reality and turn it into our own show. Understanding the power of the interpretation of reality varies.
