Gets the muscles working and doing things. Damage to the motor area of frontal cortex causes paralysis of the associated motor functions in the opposite side of the body. Damage to the pre-frontal cortex (e. g. frontal lobotomies) causes very complex and interesting effects including: slowing of thoughts and loss of spontaneity, loss of self awareness and flat affect, especially empathy, perseveration error card sorting example.
