Process of diagnosing someone w/ specific disorder is an inexact science. Diagnosing someone- leads a general trail of treatments, which are usually effective. Therapists use their top-down processing: top-down processing is not clear, very subjective. Therapists a & b don"t use the complete same processes affects the outcome, diagnosis: perceptions, biases may lead to errors in psychologists"" diagnoses, diagnosis doesn"t fit gut feeling trust that, shop around. People talking about themselves: inherently imprecise & subjective. Therapist biases: all compounded on top of one another extremely high variability in the diagnoses, and the treatment. 70 tens of thousands of cases today. Ocd vs. being cautious & detailed- oriented. Flaw: the want to say that you have this, when it"s never 100% sure. Can only say that we have a guess, from your pattern of behaviour, that this seems like you have this. Inattention (distractibility, disorganization, failure to follow instruction, excessive procrastination)
