Document Summary

To a large degree, psychology is based on the negative traits of the human psyche (e. g. deprivation, need, dissatisfaction) The innate human nature is fundamentally growth-orientated. Humanistic psychologists were studying what makes people happy (e. g. what are the peak experiences in your life? ) Self-relevancy has a major impact on how you experience life (i. e. peak experiences are based on whether or not they are interesting to you, for some reason or another) Peak experiences are either driven by intrinsic motivation or by significant input/challenge. The experience of being able to engage in moments or their life has a profound impact on your psychological well-being. If we are not paying attention and our amygdala is switched off (like the gorilla), our psychological experiences become negative. If we start with a pessimistic view of nature, then we must fix that (a self- improvement project) Attachment styles are physical and emotional patterns that are transformed into beliefs how our mind works.
