Document Summary
In this simple form of ltp, there is an increase in the expression of a subtype of glutamate (ampa) receptor: this change in receptor expression makes the cell more responsive to glutamate. An excitatory transmitter in the future: cell a can now activate cell b more easily. Intelligence may many include cognitive abilities we can measure these abilities using standardized cognitive tests. Interestingly, for any individual, the result of cognitive tests are highly correlated. Quantifying intelligence: one way of estimating g (probably the most popular way) is the intelligence quotient (iq) score. Iq can be viewed as an operational definition of intelligence. Iq scores are often obtained using weschler adult intelligence scale (wais) testing: these tests have high reliability and construct validity.
