Document Summary
Sensation, perception and consciousness you do not perceive the world "as it is", you perceive it as you are. Sensation and perception the world you live in is constructed by you: everything"s experienced in your brain, context / expectations play a huge role, change is important. Perception: processing, organization, and interpretation of sensory signals in the brain results in an internal representation of the stimuli - and your conscious experience of it. Olfaction test thousands of receptors for smell: we have a poor understanding of them, humans are in general bad at naming smells, ex. blindfold someone and tell them to identify the smell. Orbitofrontal cortex (ofc: where flavour perception occurs first point where taste information gets mixed with smell information receives info from smell, taste, and visual systems. Accommodation: muscle change shape of lens, flattening it to focus on distant objects, and thickening it to focus on closer objects, people who cannot accommodate properly need glasses / contacts.
