Motivation: there all different types of goals (deep/superficial, you can motivate people with different things (authority, money, pleasure) Best developed literatures in psy. has to do with how people motivate themselves are motivated by others, with the roles that motivational structures like goals, play in determining out behaviours, thought emotions health etc. Usually short term goal is met but causes others that may be counterproductive (reward-punishment system) Larger reward can be counterproductive compared to a smaller reward. Meaning interprets (mediated cognitively) motivation: kids playing noisily for old man on the street story, they wouldn"t play for. 10 cents even though at first they weren"t doing it for money: become tied to the financial gain, there motivation is tied to the financial gain, once it goes down they will stop to do it. Rewarded kids for being good players but they lost interest. Undermining the basic liking of an activity because of the rewards.
