Before-hand, one member of the pair was told by an experimenter that the other person was one of the most friendly (or unfriendly) people i"ve talked to lately . The pair were introduced and left alone for 5 minutes. Everyone was friendly toward the other person, but . Those in the unfriendly condition attributed the other person"s friendliness to themselves going out of their way to be friendly.
