Document Summary

Experiences resulting from stimulation of the senses; process that uses our previous knowledge together and interpret the stimuli that our senses register. We receive information through our senses, but vision is dominant o. Even though we get it from so many sources, it comes out as a coherent feeling. Visual information is registered on the retina and must make its wat through the visual pathway to the primary visual cortex in the occipital lobe. o. In the monkey brain we"ve discovered over 30 different areas where vision is registered! We create a world out of photons of light hitting our eyes! Half the fibres (axons) cross at the optic tract o. Behind the eyes, one from each eye meet and the nasal fibres cross, creating the optic chiasm, but the temporal fibres stay on their side. So the right half of each eye"s field of vision is in the left hemisphere, and the left half is in the right.
