Document Summary

Lecture 7. 3: the role of the hc in other types of cognition. Kc: severe anterograde amnesia, retrograde autobiographical amnesia, preserved semantic memory, preserved procedural memory, preserved short-term memory. Relational theory: the hc takes different bits of information from the brain and that allows us to construct new memories i. e. the hc helps form relations. Scene construction theory: the hc is crucial in having a mental picture of a scene and that scene serves as a basis for other stuff such as memory and imagination. Boundary extension: be: when people look at a picture and reproduce it they tend to expand the boundary of picture, when the hc is damaged it is less prone to be.
