People construct narratives of blame to explain why certain groups are poor or victimized. They need to make sense of inequality and justify inequality. Disadvantaged people fight back with narratives of validation. These are social responses to narratives of blame - socially constructed accounts that show disadvantaged people in a positive light. Narratives of validation are an important step in the formation of collective consciousness and resistance. After people are blamed, they are typically punished. Punishments can include exploitation, domination, exclusion, discrimination, and stigmatization. They all punish certain groups and reward others. E. g. , iran war & interest groups in u. s. Could be a robbery of money not necessarily labor. Disadvantaged people also practice strategies of resistance - to repeat .
