First purpose to protect the people who control media: way down the list to tell us the truth, media are a tool of authority, 2 kinds of way media is used to maintain authority. Implicitly in several ways: 5 filters - barriers between the truth and us. We cannot trust media depended on who owns it. If the product is buying your station - you will not say anything bad about it. The advertising parties have a large say on the station. A media in an environment - they will look for truth in that environment. Sometihing out of the blue which contradicts with the message.
