Document Summary
Vast majority of things we learn are implicit. We are not aware of the things we learn. Not everything we experience we keep in our memory. Things that have emotional value we will keep. Non associative learning is easiest and more simple form of learning. Non associative and associative can be performed by simple organism (ex. Proteins: memory would be store din the brain in forms of proteins (different macromolecule). Proteins have a half life which are relatively short, so how would we sustain memories for entire lifetime if protein is degraded. There are neurons that act like a grandmother neuron called place cells that light up in hippocampus when we are in specific places within our environment. Neurons die at a relatively high rate during development and even in adulthood. If there were gra(cid:374)d(cid:373)other (cid:374)euro(cid:374)s, we would ra(cid:374)do(cid:373)ly lose memories. Cant be just one neuron that codes for just 1 memory.
