The archaeological record - is composed of the artifacts, ecofacts and features, along with their contexts, that have survived the passage of time to form archaeological sites. Archaeological feature - a non-portable artifact (a pit, a hearth, or a structure) Are usually measured, drawn, photographed, sometimes excavated/sampled. E. g. exposing a privy feature at the salmoni site, amherstburg, ontario. Formation processes - the ways in which human behaviours and natural actions to operate to produce the archaeological record. Systemic context - a living behavioural system in which artifacts were originally manufactured, used, reused and discarded. Archaeological context - once artifacts enter the ground they are part of the archaeological context, where they can continue to be affected by hunan action, but also affected by natural processes.
