Most people use a nostalgic trope when speaking of the town. Tak baad has being a sort of spectacle put on wherein before it was this special religious. E. g. i am a mercenary here - french architect. A big difference between how experts and locals talk about it. Residents have no say in what goes or how they want their town to be. The foreigners think they"re more lao than they are.
