Most of us will never perform these procedures since a lot of these methods are almost obsolete. Bioinformatics today: although we will not do thing like this almost all of us will use bioinformatics to analyze data. But many of us will use this information to inference: health care, personalized genomics, designer babies, handheld sequences, could pierce our everyday lives = ubiquitous, meaning a lot of jobs. Very ubiquitous in the way we live so there is a lot of jobs that should be coming up. Working in lab vs. going to schools to introduce bioinformatics or promoting a pharmaceutical invention. Science and healthcare: software development, working in lab, working on back end or the front end, working on back end design and development, selling programs to people, instruction and implementation = front end. Genome assembly: very easy to generate sequence data cheap and have the machinery, illumina: 100 gb / 24hr, 150nt pieces.
