Document Summary

Video uses the power of motion and sound. A sequence of still images or frames that create the illusion of movement when played in succession. 2 types of video: analog: smooth electronic waves (we have to get this digitized) ex. Conventional tv: digital: each frame is a bitmapped graphic, stored as 0s and 1s. Capturing the video with camcorders: analog vs. digital video: analog camcorder: (older technology) electric impulses are recorded. Must convert it to digital before we can put it on our computer to edit. To convert analog video to digital video we need a video capture cord: digital video camcorder: Most digital video camcorders (dv camcorders), do a little bit of compression right inside the camera. Dv(cid:1006)(cid:1009) is the (cid:373)ost (cid:272)o(cid:373)(cid:373)o(cid:374) dv (cid:272)o(cid:373)pressio(cid:374) used (cid:271)(cid:455) toda(cid:455)"s (cid:272)a(cid:373)(cid:272)orders. For still images rgb color model is commonly used. For video the model is yuv (yiq) or ycbcr (model =color space) Uv or (cbcr) chrominance (color and hue)
