In 2005 pluto was reclassi ed from being a planet to being a dwarf planet was because there. Chapter 17: plutoids and tnos! were so many objects like pluto being discovered, we would have had 50 planets - this was deemed unworkable! Other objects deemed dwarf planets are:: ceres (in the asteroid belt), eris, makemake and haumea (past pluto in the kuiper belt)! Plutoids category was then established and current only these 4 are the occupants! Trans-neptunian objects are any sized objects that orbit the sun at a greater distance on average, than neptune: therefore tnos include everything in the kuiper belt and oort cloud which is even further out! All we know about the planet is from observations made my hst! New horizons will arrive on pluto in 2015, and then we will have data! After that, new horizons will go on to the kuiper belt!
