A fancy/fantasy is a recognition of something that is lacking. Her fancy is a kind of company in the space of radical isolation. A story about writing and the power of writing. Everything in some sense stems from this word fancy . Is it possible that there is truth to be found in madness. Would increase the severity of her illness. Her text had real world effects on the community that was attempting to silence her. Story of illness and psychological crisis, a very sharp social critique. Critique of culture"s refusal to listen, and attend to the realities of crisis and illness.
