Antioxidant may inhibit carcinogen activation & cancer promotion. But tannins interfere with the absorption of iron so we need to consume these in moderation. Block estrogen activity in cells, reduces risk of cancer of breast, ovaries, prostate and colon. Note: body can"t break down whole flaxseeds, once it"s ground down then we get all of these nutrients and phytochemicals but they are open to oxidation. Once it is ground it needs to be consumed right away, stored it in the fridge for 3 weeks and freezer for 3 months. May inhibit estrogen (inhibits breast, prostate, ovarian and colon cancer), reduces osteoporosis and risk of heart disease.
