On a global scale opportunities and power are different and unequal between the sexes; women are disadvantaged (birth, education, health, politics, economy) Only 12% of total board seats are occupied by women. Women earn just 82% of a canadian man. Half of all women in canada aged 16 or above have experienced at least one act of violence. 43% of women and 12% of men said they had been sexually harassed at work. 26% of the seats in parliament were won by women in 2015. Pros: lead most nations, hold top corporate positions, higher incomes than females, more educated, more power and opportunity. Cons: shorter life spans, most living homeless are male, 2/3 work related injuries. Higher suicide rates, higher murder and physical assault rates, higher substance abuse rates, higher life-threatening disease rates, fewer intimate friendships, less time with children. Difference = unlike, distinct, dissimilar, not necessarily right or wrong.
