Week 8 technology: technology is a facilitating or enabling agent, the geography of technology change and knowledge exhibits both concentration and dispersal, technology change is a form of learning. Incremental innovations: radical innovations, changes in the technology system, impact on several existing parts of the economy, changes in the techno-economic paradigm, large-scale revolutionary change. Technology adoption: graph shows the time it takes for of us population to adopt technology, adoption time are shrinking. Innovator: usually younger, fair level of disposable income, in the past male and female, early majority, adopt after innovator, now at half, late majority, older, conservative, laggards, very late or never adopt. Miracles of the small inventions: air conditioning, assembly line. Kondratieff has been driven by innovations in plastics, communications, and electronics: theoretical basis for the existence of kondratieff is weak, monetary and financial contexts as theoretical bases, fifth wave: informational technology.
