Demand for ever more money to fight war. War against provinces with resources, cardinal richelieu does not take into account what is moral and immoral. Richelieu"s approach is based purely on mathematical gain, will only conquer provinces if they benefit the french kingdom. Richelieu believes that if everyone limits their interests then there will be less conflict. French becomes the language of diplomacy throughout the world. Britain and france are bitter enemies, mainly due for overseas dominance (trade routes, resources etc) If a country has a lot of wealth ie britain they can keep allies in the field, in order to maintain and keep a hold of their overseas resources. Conflicts were waged deliberately by denouncing countries.
