Poor pay more for fair share of taxes, wealthy avoided taxes through various loopholes i. e. rrsp poor people cannot afford to contribute and avoid the taxes on contributions. Keynesian period great for southern ontario / montreal employees were able to retire with a nice house, pension, education funds, etc: could have a career at manufacturing plants in southern ontario. Ontario has greater percentage of gdp than population. Metropolitan dominance: finance in toronto and montreal, accounting, advertising, some industry in vancouver / law firms. Oil increasingly important full service canadian companies bought out by us firms. Us controlled 60% of canadian mines and smelting.
