Learning about adolescent health is important for population health and the economic development of nations what about for adolescents themselves?: as a developmental phase, it is 2nd only to childhood in terms of psychological and physiological change. The strongest determinants of health worldwide are structural factors: national wealth, income inequality, access to education. Thus, most effective interventions are those designed to address structural factors. Health is about so much more than disease and bodily states of illness/well- being. Fits really well within focus on normative ideas, adolescent health very important to population health, Need to do our research on adolescent sdh, usually seen in a biological framework, as an empty phase, but young people deserve to be studied.
