The federal government offers to reimburse the cost-share of the provincials 50/50 of the costs: for medical services provided by doctors in the hospitals, 1977: the federal- provincial fiscal arrangements and established programs financing. This piece of legislation replaced the cost-sharing arrangement with a block fund: block fund = a chunk of money. Under the block fund, it gave the provinces a little more flexibility in terms of what to do with the money they"ve been given. It makes it easier for them to budget rather than relying on being reimbursed by the government.
