Over 30,000 people in ontario are waiting for a bed in a ltc home. Proportion reporting waiting >2 months for specialist appointment. One of the highest wait times when compared to other countries in the commonwealth. Proportion reporting waiting >4 months for elective surgery. Other systems are handling these issues better than canada is. Some people think that we don"t efficiently use the money that we have in the health care system. We don"t allow people to get private health care services which could reduce the burden on the public health system. Have all reported wait times on the ontario website. Empowers patients to have control over who they"re sent to dependent on wait times. 20 days waiting longer could create adverse health outcomes.
