Your total internal environment or mindset, at the ime you take a drug or engage in a behavior. Physical, emoional and social factor inluence the efect of the drug. Your total external environment or mindset at the ime you take a drug or engage in a behavior. Encompasses the physical and social aspect you"re the environment. A persistent, compulsive dependence on a behavior or substance. Used to only only describe dependence on a drug, but now extends to include mood- altering behaviors or aciviies. For every psychological state there is a corresponding physiological state.
