Document Summary
When running under decent load the heart generates significant pressures. Every time someone does a squat their systolic blood pressure increases. Significant systolic blood pressures generated in whole body weight. Significant systolic blood pressures generated in whole body weight training. May only be spending 1-2 minutes under pressure - doesn"t last very long compared to running or aerobic training. All groups have a difference in ventricular diameter - this leads to a large change in blood flow i. e. sv. We see greater differences in left ventricular wall thickness, notice cyclists wall thickness much higher then running or strength. If you have a brief contraction you won"t occlude blood flow. Someone running takes 150-170 strides a minute, cyclists do. 60-80rpm meaning contractions will be longer which means resistance is going to occur for a long period of time - the heart has to generate those pressures for a longer period of time.
