You can have much change in the partial pressure of oxygen with not much change in the oxygen and hemoglobin saturation. Initially we do not see an effect of altitude with aerobic exercise. Which means we are going to be delivering less oxygen through the muscle. Meaning we are going to have to do more work anaerobically: e. g. Hot day, we get overheated, blood temperature starts to go up. We will be carrying less oxygen (a lot of anaerobic work is involved in the hot sun). We will have changes in the oxyhemoglobin saturation based on work and the temperature: we deliver much less oxygen to the tissue in hot weather, lynn cox (swan from arctic to russia), the opposite effects. If we have a lot of co2 being produced, the co2 will go to carbonic acid and give us hydrogen ions.
