1. When in this position, there is discomfort. One should expect the second task
to be more difficult because you cannot have full range of motion at both
joints simultaneously. This name of this phenomenon is passive insufficiency,
as the triceps cannot fully lengthen when in a position where both the
shoulder and elbow are flexed.
2. Slow-Twitch Oxidative fibers (SO) are slow to contract and have a small force
of contraction, however are very fatigue resistant. Fast-Twitch Oxidative
fibers (FOG) are faster to contract, and are fatigue resistant, but less fatigue
resistant than SO fibers. Finally, Fast-Twitch Glycolytic fibers (FO) have a
very strong force of contraction, are fast to contract, and are quick to fatigue.

4. When stretched, a Golgi tendon organ will contract the antagonist muscles.
At this same time, the Golgi tendon organs will inhibit the contraction of host
muscles. An example in sport would be performing a stretch before a game.

7. Left Block:
Net Torque = 0
F(d+)+F(d+) = 0
-18.5(40)+42(d+) = 0
42(d+) = 740 torque units
740/42 = 17.61 units
CG = 17.61 units
Right Block:
Net Torque = 0
F(d+)+F(d+) = 0
-22(40)+42(d+) = 0
42(d+) = 880 torque units
880/42 = 20.95 units
CG = 20.95 units
The center of gravity changes when the different weights are shifted around
the board. As this occurs, their perpendicular distance changes in respect to
the axis. This will shift the center of gravity so that the reaction force at the
end of the board also changes.
