Lec. 25: Fluids Dynamics Continued
Drag Force Direction;
- Direction of the velocity of the object changes with respect to its
parabolic pathway, the drag force always changes direction
- Terminal velocity: Max velocity an object obtains
Streamlining
- Increases the likelihood that the fluid comes back in a laminar manner,
reconnecting with minimal turbulence (reducing profile drag)
- Less turbulent air flow behind the object, less net pressure = less drag
force (minimal drag force)
-
Streamlining and Angle of Attack
