Type of speech that remains largely the same: norms: non-mobile older rural males. Goals of dialectology: find features of regional dialect, find speakers from the region with the least outside influence, use the accumulation of data to propose dialect areas and boundaries. We are using an artificial boundary geopolitical map that shows the boundary based on borders that have been defined based on the politics of a particular country.
