Management and Organizational Studies 3385A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Organizational Culture, Absenteeism, Organizational Commitment
Document Summary
I wanted to use the example of royal bank of canada (rbc) to best illustrate how an effective health and wellness program can completely revolutionize the companies workforce and create more engaged employees overall. Rbc is the largest bank in canada, and is one of the largest canadian companies overall. They employ tens of thousands of people, and most of their employees spend their days at their desks barely moving and getting almost no physical activity. In order to create and maintain a successful organizational culture, wellness must be made a top priority by senior executives and general management. Rbc can create a more dynamic, active workforce and improve their overall organizational culture. In terms of implementing a complete and unilateral health and wellness program, a multifaceted approach should be taken. Investing in the well being of employees is a critical component of a successful company.
