For many racial minorities discrimination is a frequent occurrence: denied job opportunities, denied job promotions, denied housing or loans, confronted with negative stereotypes, being pulled over for being the wrong colour. Unfair treatment has an effect on health. Discrimination (real or perceived) puts the body on alert . 3: cortisol, stress hormones, hr, blood sugar, bp. Accumulation of micro insults chronic disease and early death/morbidity.
