Case: a deaf lesbian couple purposefully have a deaf child, by selecting a sperm downer who had 5 generations of being deaf. Controversy: should children have the right to use various means to predetermine their child"s abilities and disabilities. Savulescu"s freedom argument: we should respect the freedom of parents to create whatever child they wish, through means of whatever they wish. Provided the child and parent is not harmed: some prospective parents will in-vitro fertilization, the child is not harmed. There are many things in this world that are impossible to know. If you know then there is no need to ask anymore, knowledge is valuable because then you will not need to ask. With knowledge there is so many things you can do (knowledge is power) Invalid argument - they fail to check these points (you are wrong: valid argument - an argument that succeeds in these premises, that guarantees truth.
