Week 2 reading notes: aristotle: the structure & motion of the heavenly spheres. Aristotle: most famous pupil of plato & personal tutor of alexander the great. 1st primary being cannot move itself or be moved accidently. It produces the primary eternal (endless) & single movement. Therefore, the eternal movement must be made by something eternal & a single movement made by a single thing. Each movement must be caused by a substance that cannot move itself & is eternal. Each planet has more than one thing moving it. Nature is: the primarily underlying matter of things which have in themselves a principle of motion or change. Nature is: the shape or form which is specidfided in the definition of the thing.
