Week 19 the rural & urban divide. The rural can be defined in two linked forms: material in opposition to urban spaces; and, ideal the romantic view of nature. A child from a rural family is twice as likely to die before the age of five than a child in urban areas. Participatory rural appraisal framework: sees farmers first, communities" involvement in analyzing, planning, and implementing development programs, rural people in control of developing projects.
