Quantitative research ethics approval: easier, usually based on a data set so ethics approval is not a large issue. Difficult to give all participants all the info required to make an informed decision. Deception used only as a last resort. Where feasible, anyone deceived should be debriefed as quickly as possible and. If deception is used, it should be used as sparingly as possible explained to why deception was used. Researcher flips a coin, if heads say yes and if no answer truthfully. Excess of 50% on yes is the number used for reports (i. e. if 65% answered yes, 50% answered yes because heads and 15% truthfully)
