Most complex: dissociaive idenity disorder o o o o. Paients develops 2 or more separate ideniies that co-exist. Under stress paients switches from one idenity to another. At least 2 of these recurrently take control of behaviour. Considerable co-morbidity (other problems go along with it) May be aware that the others personaliies exist (usually not) Alters can be diferent ages, genders, races or species. Diferent handwriing, vision, voice paterns, allergies (physical characterisics) Emoional crisis before age of 6 o o o o o. Child retreats into an alternate person to hide from what happened. Paients becomes curious about blackouts and memory lapses. Huge increase from 1980 to present (3500% increase) Mean number of personaliies increased from 3 to 16. Very rare/almost non existent outside of north america.
