Biology - innate responses (newborn baby crying from discomfort) Experience - learned responses (aversion to food after getting sick) Things you find beautiful or overwhelmingly pleasant is learned as well. Certain experiences can cognitively shape what we find attractive or not. Emotions as responses to our perceptions of the stimulus. Can be automatic or more reasoned and rational.
